Bookmarks, Book Lover's Best Pals!

As the festival of Diwali is here, we clean and give away the things we don't require. While cleaning up my bookshelf, I realized that I had collected so many bookmarks over the years, I could publish an entire post on it.

Being a voracious book lover, I have made my own book collection, mostly relating to design and tech. Books have been one of my ways to learn and be familiar with the latest and greatest trends and techniques for developing and designing websites.

Flipkart was (and still is) one of my favourite brands for books (along with Amazon) and I had ordered many books from the Flipkart store over the years that I have built my own Flipkart Bookmarks collection. One of the good things about their bookmarks is that they serve a collectible rather than a pure marketing tool.

Last month, I bought 5 of these handpainted treebark bookmarks at a Handloom store in Bangalore.

Recently, one of my friends gifted me this elephant metallic bookmark.

During his keynote at Creative Mornings-Mumbai, the author of "Painful People" - Cyrus Daruwala gave attendees some of the bookmarks he designed using characters from his previous book,"I take this train too" .

The Book "I wonder" by Marian Bantjes has a royal purple bookmark which complements the lavish ornamental design language of the book. It will be reviewed soon on this blog.

Most of the smashing books come with a beautiful orange ribbon bookmark stitched in the most of the books they publish. Here is Smashing Book 5's bookmark beautifully stiched with the hardcover.

Happy Diwali!

I would like to end this post by wishing all the readers a very Happy Diwali and a prosperous new year.
